Hung my own drywall for the first time after years of paying a pro and honestly the pro did it way better in half the time
It took me 4 weekends to do what that guy could have done in a day, and I still have visible seams in the corners that I can't sand down, has anyone else tried saving money on a trade job and regretted it?

Did you watch any YouTube tutorials before starting? I saw a thing online about how the pros use a bazooka taping tool for corners and that's why they look so clean. It took my buddy three tries to get his closet corners to not look wavy, and he still says the pros have some kind of magic trick with how they feather out the mud. The seams might never fully disappear without a texture coat over top, that's what I keep reading in renovation groups.

...and honestly the bazooka thing is like a whole other skill in itself, I tried to borrow one from a buddy and nearly took out a light fixture. Plus I spent like $80 on specialty corner trowels thinking that would save me and nope, still got those wavy spots that catch the light weird. The real kicker was when my neighbor who does drywall for a living walked by and offered to fix it for $50 but my pride said no way. Now I just keep the lights dim in that room and tell myself it gives it character.
