Frozen my internet by switching to a static IP on my router for a local server I was testing
Took me three hours of rebooting everything before I remembered I'd manually set the DNS to 8.8.8.8 in the config and blocked everything else by accident - anyone else ever lock themselves out of their own network by overcomplicating a simple setup?

Oh man, that's such a classic move. I swear every time I try to "just quickly tweak one thing" on my network it turns into a whole day project. It's like when people try to organize a closet by buying fancy bins and labels but never actually sort the mess inside. We always think adding more steps or complexity will fix everything, but really it just gives us more ways to mess it up. Sometimes the simplest setup is the one that works best, but we can't help trying to be clever about it first.

The closet thing is spot on, I've done that exact move with my cable management drawer. Buying all the velcro and labels just ends up in a bigger pile of stuff I never touch.
