A client at the gym said asking 'anything' is a skill you can get better at

I was helping a new member with their form and they asked if they could ask me 'anything', even stuff not about lifting. I said sure, obviously, but they said they used to be scared to ask questions online because they felt dumb. They told me, 'I practiced by posting one small question a day for a month in an ask anything group.' That really stuck with me because I always thought you were either a natural question-asker or you weren't. How do you get over the fear of asking something simple?

It's like building any other muscle, you gotta start with light weight. That person's idea of one small question a day is genius. You could practice by asking for a simpler recipe in a cooking group or how to fix a basic setting on your phone. The goal is just to get used to putting yourself out there without the world ending. After a while, your brain learns that no one is judging you as hard as you judge yourself.

But the world does end a little sometimes.
