Vent: My AI model just hit 97% accuracy on a test and I was totally wrong about it
I was sure the new training method I tried would only get us to maybe 85%... but seeing that number pop up changed my whole view on using synthetic data. Anyone else get a result that completely flipped their thinking on a project?

Honestly, that's wild, but I'm still super cautious. I've seen models ace a test set only to fail on real world data. Like a friend's image classifier got 99% on clean lab pics but totally bombed on blurry user uploads. That high score might just mean your test data is too similar to the training stuff. I'd need to see it work on messy, real inputs before I change my whole view.

Nah, I get the hype though. Sometimes a big win like that is the sign you needed to trust a new method. I'd be stoked and start planning the next test right away.
