My uncle spent 20 minutes arguing with a chatbot about the Battle of Gettysburg at Thanksgiving
Last Thanksgiving in Toledo my uncle got into it with some AI chatbot about whether Pickett's Charge was a turning point, and he kept typing 'you are wrong' like it would cave. The wild part was the bot just kept calmly rephrasing the same answer while he got redder and redder, and my cousin filmed the whole thing. Does anyone else have a relative who treats AI like a stubborn debate partner who just needs more convincing?
Watched my dad do the exact same thing with a weather bot last winter, swore it was lying about the forecast because it kept saying snow when he wanted sun for his drive to Indiana. What finally worked was just taking his phone and showing him the bot's answer doesn't change no matter how many times you type at it, it's not digging in its heels, it literally has one move. He still argues with it sometimes but now he laughs about it instead of getting worked up. Your uncle getting redder while the bot stays calm is honestly the funniest part to me, like yelling at a wall that just politely repeats itself. Get that cousin to send you the video, that's holiday gold.
