Appreciation post: I was dead wrong about AI image generators for 6 months

Honestly, I thought those AI image tools were just for making weird memes and nothing else. My buddy kept sending me stuff he made with Midjourney and I was like yeah cool whatever. Then last month I needed a custom graphic for a work presentation on renewable energy stats. No budget for a designer. I spent 2 hours messing with DALL-E 3 and got exactly what I needed. A chart showing solar growth with a clean background. My boss loved it. Has anyone else had a moment where an AI tool surprised you in a practical way?
