The wood glue trick actually worked, now I feel dumb for doubting it
Been collecting 45s from Goodwill for a dollar a pop. Got a copy of some old soul single with a surface scratch that skipped like crazy. Everyone swore by the wood glue method. Thought it was forum nonsense.
Tried it anyway on one beat-up record. Spread a thin layer of Elmer's, let it dry 4 hours, peeled it off. The skip was gone. Completely. Even the crackle dropped by half.
Now I'm wondering what else I've been ignoring. Has anyone tried the heat gun method for warps without melting the grooves? Heard it works but I'm scared to test it on my good copy.
