My Florida condo purchase made me rethink vacation home advice
People always say buying a place in a hot tourist spot is a smart move for steady rental cash. After owning a condo near Disney for three years, I spent more on fees and management than I made from guests. The weeks it sat empty between bookings were a constant stress. I've come to believe that putting your money into a regular home in your own town is a safer bet.

Used to believe in those vacation home dreams. Your experience proves it's a money pit. I'm rethinking my own plans now.

Figured renting it out would pay for itself, but it barely breaks even most months.

My cousin swore his grocery delivery side hustle was easy cash until he added up his gas and car repairs. Seems like every "passive income" plan has a bunch of hidden costs nobody talks about.

Yeah, those hidden costs are real. My buddy bought into a vending machine route and the repair bills ate all his profit.
