Unpopular opinion: the fancy new travel center showers are worse than the old ones
I stopped at the brand new MegaPlaza off I-80 in Omaha last Tuesday because everyone raves about their showers. Had a long talk with a driver named Dale while waiting, and he said the private stalls feel like a dentist office, not a rest stop. He was right, the water pressure was weak and the floor drained slow, took me 25 minutes vs my usual 10 at the older Petro 2 miles east. Plus they charge $18 versus $12 and the towels are thin as paper. The local buzz is all hype, but has anyone else felt the new spots miss the simple stuff like a good hook for your bag?
