My stint on a wind farm in Texas opened my eyes to working with cranes on unstable ground.
You really have to PLAN for those sudden gusts that can shake everything up.

Actually, the ground prep is often more critical than the wind plan. Soft soil can shift even without a gust.

Man, you hit the nail on the head. That planning is everything out there. The weather changes so fast in those wide open spaces, and the ground is never as solid as you want. You see one gust catch the load wrong and it’s over. It really comes down to safety, plain and simple. Getting lazy with the plan gets people hurt.
