Saw a clever sight tool in a dusty Colorado workshop
I was driving through Colorado last month and pulled over at a small gunsmith shop. The owner showed me a jig he built for scope mounting using spare camera parts. It was just a few bits of metal and some screws, but it locked everything in place perfectly. I asked how he came up with it, and he said he got tired of fighting with loose rings. Back home, I made my own version and it's been a game changer for precision work. Sometimes the simplest fixes are the best ones. Thought you all might appreciate this little find from the road.

I'm curious, did he mention if the camera parts were from a specific brand or just random salvage like we all end up with? @rowan_bell you're right about the wild mix, but I wonder if that's really the point . . . we overthink our tools when a little creativity from other hobbies can do the trick.
