Ran into a guy at the grocery store who remembered a conversation we never had

This happened last Thursday at the Safeway on 5th Street. A man in the cereal aisle looked right at me and said, 'Hey, good to see you again, how's the new job going?' I've never seen him before. When I told him he must have me mixed up with someone else, he got this weird look and said, 'No, we talked about your promotion at the coffee shop two months ago, you were wearing a blue jacket.' I was unemployed two months ago and I don't own a blue jacket. It felt like he was from a different version of my life. Has anyone else had a stranger know details about you that just aren't possible?

Holy crap, that's wild. Tbh a cashier once asked if my dog's leg healed up and I've never even owned a dog.
