My car keys were gone for three days, then I just asked for them back
I tore my apartment apart looking for my keys. I checked the couch, my jacket, even the fridge. Nothing. On the third day, I was just sitting there, beat, and I said out loud, 'Okay, fine. Can I have my keys back now?' I wasn't even serious. I got up to get a glass of water and there they were, sitting right in the middle of my kitchen table. I know I looked there a dozen times. My roommate was out of town, so no one moved them. It felt like the rules just bent for a second. Has anyone else had something vanish and then show up in plain sight after you basically gave up?

The house gremlins got bored and decided to return your stuff. Happens to me all the time with the TV remote. They must have a weird sense of humor.
