Rant: I bought a cheap glass cutting oil from a hardware store in Omaha and wasted $40 on a botched shower door job. Is any cutting oil fine, or do you need the good stuff?

Cheap stuff gums up and ruins the cut.

Honestly, "gums up and ruins the cut" is putting it nicely. @tyler_hernandez is right, I learned the hard way too. That cheap oil gets all sticky and the glass cutter just skips, leaving a nasty chip. Now I just use the name brand stuff, it's thinner and actually lubricates the wheel.
