Finally got a clean cut on that 1/2 inch laminated glass for the bank job
I was working on a big front for a local bank branch, and the 1/2 inch laminated kept chipping on the corners no matter how slow I went with the cutter. After three bad pieces, I tried something my old boss mentioned once but I never used: a drop of light machine oil on the wheel before scoring. I made a single, firm pass with the oiled cutter and the score line looked perfect. The break was clean as a whistle, with no chips at all. Has anyone else found a specific lubricant that works better than others for thick laminated?
