Bought a $30 graphite paddle and it's my new favorite tool

I got a 4 inch wide one from a shop in Portland, mostly for smoothing out the bottoms of cups. It works way better than my old wooden one because it doesn't stick or burn, and it holds its shape in the heat. Anyone have a good trick for keeping graphite tools from getting too dusty?

Graphite dust is just part of the deal, like glitter from a craft project that gets everywhere. I just wipe mine down with a damp paper towel before I use it, seems to cut down on the worst of it. The black smudges on my apron are a permanent feature now.

So you've basically accepted that your apron is just a wearable dust rag now? I love the glitter comparison because at least glitter is kind of pretty, this stuff just makes me look like I lost a fight with a photocopier. I tried the damp towel trick and it helps, but I swear that dust is part of my DNA at this point. My whole life has a faint gray film over it.
