I was hiking near Sedona and saw a whole cliff face that looked like a stack of pancakes.

The layers were so perfectly flat and even, it made me wonder what kind of ancient event could have left sediment that neat, and if anyone else has seen formations like that around there.

That's the Schnebly Hill Formation. It's actually wind-blown sand dunes, not water sediment, that got pressed into sandstone.

But wind can't make layers that flat, it had to be water.
