Update: I bought a cheap fitness tracker and a Fitbit Charge 6 to see the difference.

The cheap one said I slept 8 hours when I was up at 3am, but the Fitbit got my heart rate right and actually tracked my workout. Has anyone else found that the budget stuff just lies to you?

Ever try a cheap step counter? I had one that gave me 5,000 steps while I was driving on a bumpy road. It's like they just guess based on how long you've been moving. My old Garmin might not be fancy, but at least it knows when I'm actually walking.

Oh man, that's hilarious! My friend had a cheap one that counted her knitting as steps. It's like they just want to make us feel good. @the_sean, your story about the bumpy road steps is perfect. My takeaway is that a budget tracker will congratulate you for breathing, while a real one tells you the hard truth about that 3am cookie run.
