Pro tip: I saw a weird thing with phone cases at the airport in Phoenix

I was waiting for a flight at Sky Harbor last week and noticed almost every single person had a clear plastic case on their phone. I counted 17 people in the gate area, and 14 of them had one. I get that they're cheap and show off your phone color, but honestly, I think they're a bad buy. They turn yellow in like 3 months and offer zero real drop protection (I've cracked two screens with them on). Why does everyone keep buying these when a basic silicone case for $15 works so much better? Has anyone else had a screen break with a clear case on?

Watching people buy those clear cases is like watching moths fly into the same lamp every night. Honestly, they must sell them in bulk at airport vending machines next to the $10 water bottles. I cracked my last phone screen while it was in one of those useless yellowed shells, and the guy at the repair shop just nodded like he sees it every single day. We all keep buying them hoping this one won't turn the color of old butter, but it always does.

Ugh, right? @mark49 is totally right about the old butter color. My last clear case got so nasty so fast, and then my phone slipped right out of my hand and the screen shattered. Why do we even bother?
