My old e-reader needed a new battery and it took me a whole weekend
I pulled my old Kindle Paperwhite out of a drawer last week and it wouldn't turn on. I figured it just needed a new battery, which seemed simple. I ordered a replacement kit online and watched a tutorial. The actual swap took about an hour, but getting the case open without breaking the plastic clips took me almost two full days of careful prying. Has anyone else had a tough time with a simple battery replacement on an older gadget?

Feels like modern gadgets are designed to make simple fixes a huge ordeal.

But what if that tough design is actually protecting the device? I mean, those tight plastic clips keep dust and moisture out way better than if it just popped open. Maybe the hassle is a trade-off for it lasting so long in a drawer in the first place. Sometimes a sealed-up design is what lets a gadget survive for years until you even need to change the battery.
