My $80 dash cam stopped recording mid commute on Tuesday...
Got home and found out it only saved the first 20 minutes of a 45 minute drive because the memory card filled up with loop files from a year ago, what do you guys use for automatic cleanup?

Did you check if your cam has a "format card" option in settings?

A buddy of mine ran into this exact issue last month with his Sony A7. He was trying to record an interview and the camera just kept giving him a "card error" message after about 10 minutes of shooting. He dug through the menu for a while and found the format option buried under the setup tab (took him like 15 minutes to even find it). Once he formatted the card in-camera instead of on his computer, the problem totally went away.
