Showerthought: I had to pick between a $200 spray rig and a $40 HVLP gun for a big table job.

Went with the HVLP and spent three days on it, but the finish was flawless. Anyone have a go-to budget gun they swear by?

Disagree with Julia_Garcia55 about time being free. Three days is a huge cost, both in labor and lost use of the shop. A decent mid-range gun would have split the difference perfectly.

Honestly that's the real pro move right there. Time is free but a bad finish lasts forever, lol. Can't argue with flawless.
