My Arizona shop taught me a tack cloth is mostly for the glue, not the finish.

Ever notice how the "right" way to use a tool is totally different depending on who taught you? It's like everyone has their own little rule that becomes gospel. Makes you wonder how many other basic things we're all doing slightly wrong because of some random tip we got years ago.
