The day I accidentally doubled my rate with one dumb question
I was on a call with a client in Austin last month, and they asked my hourly rate. I meant to say $50 but my brain glitched and I said $95. They didn't even flinch, just said 'okay sounds good.' I spent the whole project panicking they'd realize it was a mistake but they paid it no problem. Has anyone else pulled a number out of thin air and it actually stuck?

Yeah @emmajackson makes a good point... once you throw out a number and they don't blink, you probably left money on the table. I'd say always go a little higher than your gut tells you next time, worst they can do is say no and you negotiate down.
