Serious question, a client in Denver refused to pay the final $1200 after I finished the website.

I was at home when the email came through saying they 'weren't happy' with the final product, but wouldn't say why. I had a signed contract, so I sent a formal demand letter and then filed in small claims court, which took about 3 months. Has anyone else had to go to court over a client who just decided not to pay?
