Lost a regular client in 10 seconds over a grooming question I answered honestly

I was mid-session with a poodle in San Diego last Thursday when a long-time client overheard me tell someone else that doodles aren't a real breed and she stormed out saying I was unprofessional, so now I'm down $200 a month - how do you handle those moments where being honest costs you money?

Did she say it was the doodle comment or just called you unprofessional?

In my experience with stuff like this, it's best to just take the feedback at face value and not overthink it. @aaron_gonzalez, I had a boss once who called me out for "not taking things seriously" and I kept asking for specifics. Turned out it was a mix of things, not just one comment. I finally just said "got it, I'll tighten up" and moved on. Usually works better than trying to figure out the exact reason.
