That's why I don't do work for friends anymore. It blurs the line between a professional deal and a personal favor. You end up getting taken advantage of.

But what if the problem is not having a clear deal from the start? I did a logo for my friend's band once. We wrote down what I'd do, how many changes were free, and the price, before I even opened my laptop. It felt weirdly formal for a minute, but it saved us both later when they wanted a fifth round of changes. That line only gets blurry if you don't draw it in ink first.
