Can we talk about how people still think a cheap website is a good deal?
I saw a post last week where someone bragged about getting a full site for $200. That was the going rate back in 2012, but now it just means they'll get a template with no SEO and broken links in six months. I learned this after fixing three of those sites for clients who paid me triple to rebuild them. What's a fair price for a basic, solid site these days?

Honestly, you get what you pay for. A basic site that actually works and you can update yourself? I'd say at least a couple grand. That $200 deal is always a mess of copied code and expired plugins.

Yeah I saw a thread where someone paid like $300 and the whole thing broke after a week. Total nightmare to fix.
