Unpopular opinion: A free scary looking chair totally won me over

I used to skip all the free stuff posts, convinced it was just garbage. Then I saw a free rocking chair on my street that looked like it belonged in a haunted house. I took it home as a silly joke, but after cleaning it up, it's where I sit every evening. Now I check the free alerts daily and have found some really nice things. That ugly chair made me change my whole view on free stuff.

Ugh, the soup couch is a real risk. My rule is never take fabric furniture you can't inspect in daylight first. If you do get a stinky one, sprinkle baking soda all over it, let it sit for a day, then vacuum. Works half the time. That ugly chair was a dangerous start, now I'm the person circling the block eyeing up "free" dressers.
