Picked up a solid wood desk off Craigslist for free yesterday

Some guy in Oak Park was moving out and just wanted it gone, I got there within 2 hours of his post. Thing weighs a ton but it's real oak, not that particle board junk. Anybody else grab good furniture off curb alerts lately?

Oh man that's a score! I did the same thing last spring when a family in my neighborhood listed a solid maple dining table for free on Nextdoor. I drove over there within an hour, my truck was already half full of stuff but I made it work. Thing was heavy as all get out but it cleaned up beautiful with just some oil soap and elbow grease. I still use it every day for my puzzles and bills and stuff.

Honestly @williamd70, free maple furniture is a great find but I always worry about bed bugs or something hiding in the cracks. You got lucky it cleaned up so easy.
