Picked a beat-up IKEA table over a nice solid wood one off FB Marketplace...

Everyone said grab the solid wood piece for $0 but I went with the rickety IKEA one because it was 2 blocks from my apartment in Brooklyn and I didn't have a car. After dragging it up 3 flights of stairs I realized the legs are totally stripped and it wobbles like crazy. Anyone else take a free thing just for the convenience and regret it later?

Hold up, I gotta disagree here @leo_lopez. Stripped legs can actually be a blessing in disguise if you're looking to rebuild the whole binding. A stripped screw means you're definitely gonna have to drill it out, which forces you to clean up the rust and old epoxy around the insert. I've had a few pairs where the bindings were so old and crusty that a stripped screw was the push I needed to finally swap hardware and put in fresh inserts. Yeah, it's more work upfront, but your setup ends up way more solid in the long run.
