Free box humidifier needed a $2 fix after 3 gross weeks
Tbh I grabbed a humidifier off someone's porch pile last month, figured it was toast since they put a 'free' sticker on it. After cleaning the tank twice it still smelled like old basement, so I popped the top and found a crusty wick filter. Replaced it with a universal one from the hardware store for $2.50, now it runs quieter than my friend's $60 unit. Has anyone else rescued an appliance from the curb that just needed a cheap part instead of a full replacement?
