Neighbor lady at the community garden changed my whole view on bruised apples
Tbh I used to skip any apple on the ground that had a soft spot. Last Tuesday this older woman, Ruth, saw me toss one aside and said 'youre leaving the best part for the birds.' She showed me how to cut around the bruise and use the rest for a quick crisp. I saved like 6 apples from that one tree and threw together a small pan dessert that night. Has anyone else gotten a trick from a stranger that made you look at dropped fruit different?
