Switched my hydrangeas to a vinegar soak and the color shift was wild

I had a batch of pink hydrangeas that just would not hold their color, so I tried soaking the stems in a mix of one cup white vinegar to two gallons of water for about six hours. The next day, the blooms were a much deeper, richer pink and they lasted a full week longer in the arrangement. Has anyone else tried this with other flowers that are known to fade fast?

Wow, that's a solid tip. Feels like the old school fixes always work better than the fancy stuff.

Ever notice how those old fixes are often just working with the material's natural behavior instead of fighting it? Like using wax on a wooden table instead of a chemical spray, you're following the grain. New stuff tends to over-engineer a solution for a simple problem.
