Serious question, has anyone else lost money on those cheap floral foam bricks?

I bought a bulk pack of 50 off-brand bricks for $75, and half of them crumbled apart when I tried to soak them for a large centerpiece order. I had to rush out and buy the good stuff, losing the whole afternoon and the initial cost. What's your go-to brand that actually holds up?

Cheap bricks are fine, you just soaked them wrong.

Watched my friend Sarah try to save money on those bricks for a wedding job. She had a whole box just turn to wet sand in the bucket, no matter how slow she poured. It was a total mess, with little foam bits floating everywhere in her water. She ended up having to redo all the table pieces with Oasis bricks she got at the last minute.
