Just realized how much my bridal bouquets changed after I stopped using tape in the design

I used to rely on floral tape for every single bouquet I made for weddings out of my shop in Austin. About six months ago I switched to using just wire and stem wraps after a class I took. The difference is night and day - my bouquets look way more natural now and they hold up better for the brides. Has anyone else made a similar switch in their technique and seen a big change?

I made a similar switch in my own work about two years ago and it really changed everything. The bouquets feel lighter and more flexible, which makes them easier for brides to hold during long ceremonies. As far as wilting goes, I actually found they lasted a bit longer because there's no tape constricting the stems and cutting off water flow. The stems can breathe better without all that sticky wrap, and clients have told me their bouquets stayed fresh through the whole reception and beyond. It takes some practice to get the wire tension right, but once you do, you won't look back.

Did you notice any difference in how long the bouquets lasted before wilting?
