I used to just guess at flower food amounts until a wedding order went wrong

For years, I'd just toss a random pinch of the powdered flower food into each bucket, thinking it was close enough. That changed last summer when I prepped 40 centerpieces for a big wedding in Austin. By the second day, half the roses were drooping badly. I panicked and called my mentor, who asked me point blank, 'Did you measure the food or just wing it?' I had to admit I winged it. She told me to always use a proper scoop or even a kitchen scale for big jobs. Now I keep a set of measuring spoons just for the flower food station. I weigh it for large orders over 20 arrangements. The difference in vase life is huge, like an extra 3 or 4 days on delicate blooms. Has anyone else found a specific tool that saved them from a similar mess?

My old analog scale was off by like five grams.
