How I spent 3 years stripping rose thorns the dumb way

I used to twist the rose stems in my hands to snap the thorns off. Took forever, and my fingers were always tore up. Last month a older florist from the shop next door saw me and just laughed. She showed me the trick where you knock them off with the back of a knife blade in like two seconds flat. I felt like such a clown. Anyone else have a basic florist skill they figured out way later than they should have?

That knife trick works but you gotta watch out for the petals too.

Took me like four years before someone showed me you can just use a rubber band to hold the stems together while you strip them. Changed my whole goddamn life.
