Wasted 2 years not letting glue tack up before sticking LVP
I used to just spread the adhesive and slap the planks in right away. Thought I was saving time. Then at a job in Denver last Tuesday, I watched a guy wait 15 minutes for it to get tacky and his floor came out way flatter than mine ever do. Has anyone else made this dumb mistake or just me?

Yeah, that "saving time by not waiting" thing gets a lot of people. It's the same reason guys rush through taping drywall or painting a room. You're so focused on getting the job done quick that you skip the step that makes it look good. But the 15 minutes you "save" by not letting it tack up turns into hours later fixing wavy floors or gaps. The whole world's like that now, everyone in a hurry to finish something and they end up doing it twice.

I actually used to be one of those people who'd skip waiting for stuff to dry or tack up. Thought I was being efficient, you know? But man, after having to redo a whole section of drywall because I rushed the mud, I finally get it. You're totally right, that "quick fix" always costs you way more time in the long run.
