So I used a heat gun to soften some old vinyl plank for a repair in a Denver basement

The planks actually shrunk and pulled apart at the seams, which was the opposite of what I wanted. Anyone know a better trick for dealing with stubborn, curled-up LVP?

Wait, isn't Denver air super dry? I'm with @blair_williams69 on this, that basement humidity is probably making things worse. Maybe try a dehumidifier first before any more heat.
