Just finished a 2,000 square foot glue down job with only 3 gallons of adhesive, thought I was gonna run out for sure.

Okay, but how thick was your spread? That's a huge area for just three gallons. I've seen guys use that much on half the space if they're laying it on thick, or if the floor wasn't perfectly flat. Did you use a specific trowel notch size?
