That's a pretty specific situation to base a whole opinion on. A tiny gap staying clean isn't a major win. Most site-finished floors hold up just fine for way longer than ten years.

Denver guy's floor is ten years old. How many site-finished floors have you actually seen at that age with zero gaps or filled cracks? His point was about long-term look, not just holding up.
