PSA: I used to think a chain tool was just for emergencies, now I use it every spring
Honestly, I'd only break mine out when a chain snapped on the trail, which was a huge pain. After a really gritty ride in Moab last year, I realized a quick clean and lube with the tool is way faster than wrestling with the whole drivetrain. Anyone else have a tool they totally underused at first?

Why even bother with a chain tool that often? It sounds like extra work for no real gain. A snapped chain is so rare that keeping it just for that makes more sense. All that regular taking apart probably wears the chain out faster anyway. I just clean my whole drivetrain with a brush and it works fine. Seems like you're overcomplicating a simple task.

So you've never had a chain stretch past its limit?
