Heard a neighbor tell his kid 'just take it to the shop' for a slipped chain. Made me think about how that wasn't an option for me growing up.

Saw an article about how fewer kids learn basic hands-on skills now. That neighbor's comment is a perfect example.

Man, that reminds me of my buddy last month. His car battery died in his apartment parking lot. He just sat there on his phone looking for a tow truck for like an hour. I walked over, we used cables from another neighbor, and got it going in five minutes. He had no clue how to do it, said he always just called someone. Felt bad for him, honestly.
