My shed roof started sagging after 18 months - here's what I found
I built a 10x12 shed in my backyard near Portland back in April of 2022. The roof looked fine for over a year, but last month I noticed a dip near the ridge line. I checked my rafter spans and realized I used 2x4s at 24 inches on center. That works for a small structure but apparently not for a roof that sees heavy wet snow like we get here. I had to sister in 2x6s to each rafter to fix the sag. Cost me about $80 in lumber and a full Saturday. Has anyone else run into span issues with their shed roof plans?
