My shed door frame rotted out after 5 years

I built that thing in 2019 with regular pine and thought I sealed it good. Came home last week and the bottom 6 inches just crumbled when I opened it. Had to tear the whole frame out and replace with pressure treated. Anyone else had their doors fail way sooner than expected?

My neighbor's shed did the same thing last year. He used cedar too and still got rot. It's the ground contact that kills it every time. I put mine on concrete blocks after the first rebuild, been fine ever since. Just not worth using regular wood at all near dirt.

Yeah, totally. My buddy Tom built a whole raised garden bed out of pressure treated pine, the good stuff they sell for ground contact. Thought he did everything right, even put gravel at the bottom for drainage. Two years later he pulled a board out and it was basically mulch on the bottom six inches. He ended up ripping the whole thing apart and switching to those metal raised beds from the farm supply store. Hasn't had an issue since. It's crazy how fast dirt just eats wood.
