Bought a $60 water pressure gauge after my second pipe burst in a year

I had two pinhole leaks in copper pipes under my kitchen sink within 12 months, so I finally grabbed a cheap gauge from the hardware store. Turns out my house pressure was running at 95 psi, way over the normal 40-60 range, and a $40 pressure reducing valve sorted it out instantly. Anyone else ever had crazy high pressure damage their fixtures without realizing it?

It's funny how we ignore the small things until they cost us big, like my leaky faucets that turned out to be a whole-house pressure issue.

Wait, 95 psi? That's insane. I had no idea pressure could get that high in a normal house. @the_nina is right, it's crazy how we just ignore the little stuff until it blows up in our faces, literally. Did your faucets start making that weird hammering noise too before you fixed it? I had the same thing happen with my washing machine hoses, they started bulging like snakes. A simple pressure check saved me a ton of money and stress, I wish I had done it years ago.
