Bought a cheap solar light set from Amazon for my walkway and the battery covers corroded after one rainstorm

I wasted $35 on those bright little LED path lights and they weren't even weather sealed right, so before you grab the cheapest option check the gasket quality has anyone found a brand under $50 that actually lasts through a humid summer?

$35 isn't nothing but that's pretty standard for cheap solar lights. I bought a set from Target for $20 last year and the battery covers are still fine after two summers of rain. Did the corrosion actually break them or just make them look bad? Most of those things are disposable anyway, figure a year or two max out of them.

Wait, do you actually think that, @harperb46? I used to figure cheap solar lights were all disposable junk too, but my last set from Home Depot actually held up way longer than I expected. The corrosion on mine just made the covers look kinda nasty, but the lights still worked fine for three seasons before I finally tossed them.
