Found out my water heater was 3 years past its expected lifespan from a sticker I never noticed

I was poking around my basement trying to figure out why the hot water runs out so fast and I saw this little yellow sticker on the side of the tank that said it was installed in 2016... I bought the house 2 years ago. Does anyone else find hidden stuff like that when they finally look close enough at their own appliances?

Think of it more like a suggestion than a hard deadline.

My buddy had a boss who used the "suggestion" line all the time. He kept pushing back a project by a week every time they said it. Finally missed a big client deadline and got chewed out, but the boss acted like it was his fault for not reading between the lines.
