Unpopular opinion: I used to throw away rusted garden tools without thinking twice
Last week my pruners were so rusty I couldn't close them. Was about to toss em but read online that a soak in white vinegar for 24 hours works. I tried it and they look almost new, definitely keeping them next time.

That 24 hour vinegar soak really does work, same thing happened with my rusty shears.

Yeah, for real! It's funny how the simplest stuff like vinegar works better than half the expensive sprays out there. I've noticed this pattern in a lot of household problems, @dakotam17. People always think you need some special chemical to fix things, but a lot of the time the answer is already in your kitchen. It's the same with baking soda and lemon juice for getting smells out of cutting boards or unclogging a slow drain. Once you start paying attention, you see it everywhere. You just got to trust the old school methods, they've been around for a reason.
